My hometown lighthouse, and one that I can say, as part of the Michigan Youth Corps, I had a very small hand in restoring. Located in Escanaba, Michigan at the east end of Ludington Street, Sand Point light is unique in that it appears to have been built facing the wrong direction! The tower is on the West side of the building, rather than the East side, facing out into Little Bay de Noc.
Depending on what you're looking to capture, the best time to photograph this light may be late afternoon as early morning shots have you shooting into the sun.
