I still remember the Superbowl games of my youth, and it was all about the football. Watching Fox's coverage of the game today, and it's all about the consumer: personality stories, music videos, celebrity interviews and all the rest of the hype.
With the exception of a one or two spots, I thought the ads this year were disappointing as well. For $3+ million dollars a segment, I expect better - what happened to marketing talent? A heart that walks around is just plain bad.
Luckily the 4th Quarter of the game delivered an exciting finish, so congratulations to the New York Giants (even though you beat my Packers).
