Ahh September in Upper Michigan. The days are just warm enough to get by without a jacket and the nights are cool enough to be comfortable, a little chilly even, but not yet cold. The banes of Summer outdoor activities (mosquitos and black flies) are in retreat and when you close your eyes and take a deep breath, you recognize the smell of Mother Nature preparing for winter. In a few short weeks, the landscape begins to come alive as it dies and I’m constantly amazed at the beauty around us. The challenge is to get out and enjoy it.
Like a lot of other activities these days, it seems if it’s not on my to-do list, it doesn’t get done. This website barely makes it onto my radar, but that’s not to say it’s completely forgotten. I decided to install yet another blogging system, which is a decision that started the technology dominos falling. WordPress’s “five minute install” wasn’t to be and I ended up getting in touch with Liquid Web’s technical support (they were great to work with) as I finally deduced I needed different versions of PHP and MySQL. After moving my site to a new server platform, here we are!
